Flight Proposed Between DanangAnd Cambodia

The countries of Vietnam and Cambodia have come to an agreement about creating a direct flight which will fly from Danang, city located in central Vietnam, to Phnom Penh and vice versa. This is expected to boost not just businesses such as Danang Hotel but also the tourism between Cambodia and Vietnam.

The Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam has signed a partnership with Cambodia’s SSCA or State Secretariat of Civil Aviation in order to start rolling out plans for the new route. The operation is to be handled by the national flag carrier of Cambodia, the Cambodia Angkor Air.

When asked for a comment, CheaOun who is the spokesperson for SSCA could not be contacted.

Meanwhile, according to the head of the Cambodia Association of Travel Agents, Chhay Sivlin, the new route is expected to prompt the increase in the number of tourists from Vietnam visiting the kingdom of Cambodia. Furthermore, she said that one of the largest tourism markets for Cambodia is coming from Vietnam.

Ms. Sivlin also said that when it comes to the launch of the new route, Cambodia has a lot more to get from the partnership. For instance, international travellers who are vacationing in Danang could easily book another direct flight from there going to Phnom Penh if they wish to. She also noted that there is a notable increased in the number of Vietnamese travellers that are coming to Cambodia.

Therefore, she believes that it is only right that the number of international fights should be increased in order to accomplish the goal of the government which is to gain a total of 15 million tourists every year starting in 2030.

Data coming from the Ministry of Tourism showed that between January and April, the number of Vietnamese travellers who came to Cambodia reached 260,000. This is 1.2 per cent higher compared to 2018.

Meanwhile, travellers from Cambodia are expected to book Danang Hotel prior to their flights which will be a good thing for local businesses. Both countries are in a win-win situation in terms of tourism with the development of this new flight route.
