University Of South Wales Introducing Logistics And Supply Chain Courses

The University of South Wales Dubai recently opened successfully in September, and now the University has introduced new courses to be offered at the new campus, starting in 2019, with one of the new courses aimed at educating the many a logistics specialist for the industry.

The specialist facility will be offering these KHDA-approved courses starting by September 2019, including MSc International Logistics & Supply Chain Management, as well as MSc Cyber Security.

These two new post-graduate courses are aimed at meeting the future development needs in the UAE, particularly the aerospace sectors, as well as other strategically important sectors in the region. These courses will offer knowledge and skill that’ll allow graduates to work in different business areas in the many multinational enterprises in the region.

Both of the programmes will be in block-mode format, so that any practicing professionals taking the course to becoming a new cybersecurity expert or logistics specialist can study while working.

These two new programmes will be added alongside the current programmes, which include BSc (Hons) Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, which comes with integrated European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) training, among others.

The new facility, built at the Dubai South Business Park, is purpose-built for educating new professionals, with accredited EASA/GCAA workshop, complete with an aircraft and a CFM56-3 jet engine, as well as soundproofed maintenance areas.

There’s also dedicated space for IT and electronics tasks and avionics, allowing students to acquire practical, hands-on experience during their studies, alongside composite-based equipment to allow for the production of sample materials.

USW Vice-Chancellor and Professor Julie Lydon, says that the courses that they offer gives students in the region the opportunity to learn from the experts that lead the industry in the field, and these new courses will expand the opportunities that students have.

She says that their international logistics & supply chain, as well as cyber security, expertise is well-known in the UK, with several accreditations and experience working with industry leaders, and that they’re bringing this expertise over to Dubai, giving students the ability to learn world-leading skills in these fields.
